Manufacturing Quality Assurance Technician

Primary Function: 
Provide Quality/Manufacturing/Engineering support related to issues arising from processes and designs. Assist with Engineering functions and production staff on testing, problem solving, 6Sigma and LEAN methodologies. Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects and ICA’s (Internal Corrective Action).
Essential Job Functions: 
 Promote a positive culture where Quality is built into the product
 Perform data entry for RMA’s, Syteline and MRR’s
 Lead and assist Quality Inspectors in the inspection process, identification of quality issues and usage of appropriate measurement devices.
 Support and assist engineering in the development phase of new product through the product development process (Quality inspection(s) procedure, Test method(s)procedure, Capability testing studies, etc…)
 Work with Manufacturing Engineering to improve inspection and production tooling(s)
 Collaborate with Production and Engineering to solve daily arising issues
 Performs process capability studies (Gages R&R, MSA studies)
 Administers all inspection functions relating to in-process and final inspections
 Investigates manufacturing processes, product performance problems, and machine capability problems
 Analyzes returned product, works with appropriate functions to determine root cause and corrective action.
 Lead by coordinating rework processes and material sorts within designated product areas. Coordinates procedure with assistance from manufacturing engineering.
 Perform and coordinate all calibrations for gauges and test equipment
 Develop and implement quality procedures, test procedures and technical reports

Education and/or Experience: 
 Associate’s degree in an engineering or technical field
 Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Minitab
 Working knowledge of 6 Sigma (DMAIC, DOE, Gage R&R, etc.).
 Hands-on experience using basic inspection tools
 Excellent communication and leadership skills required.
